IP Controls is an Arkansas Limited Liability Company headquartered in Fort Smith, Arkansas which is engaged in custom manufacturing and distribution. It was founded by its President, Joe J. Herrmann III, in 2000.

Mr. Herrmann is a 20 year veteran of the utility industry where he held positions in Distribution Engineering, Substation Operations, and performance management. He also retired from the United States Army Reserve where he managed a transportation company that spanned five states. He graduated cum laude from John Brown University with a Bachelor of Science, Organizational Management and he also earned an Associates of Applied Science, Electronics from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith.

Through his experiences in the utility industry, Mr. Herrmann developed an expertise in gps products. This interest led to the company's entrance into the distribution and integration of gps hardware and software. Utilizing a host of vendors, the company has been able to solve integration issues with customers who are trying to expand their use of gps while maintaining their current applications.

The company represents Control Technologies, developer of BlackOutPro^TM and LockOutPro^TM as well as PortOutPro^TM; USGlobalSat manufacturer of GPS hardware, San Jose Navigation manufacture of GPS products, Deluo Electronics distributor of GPS hardware and software, and Kinyo Speakers manufacture of audio equipment. Also, we are strategic partners with First Mobile Technologies the premier nationwide mobile mounting hardware installation services provider. With the help of these vendors and partners the company has developed and integrated gps solutions for Cox Communications, Southern California Gas, San Diego Gas and Electric, American Water, the City of Fort Smith and Oklahoma Gas and Electric.

The company also provides contract manufacturing and distribution for industrial customers, electrical utilities and medical device makers. Through its association with its general contractors, IP Controls has produced electrical controls for companies such as Planters Peanuts, Trane Systems, Armedica, National Oilwell, Whirlpool Corp. and Oklahoma Gas and Electric.
